Reflecting Creativity

Barbara L. Walters, a retired Dept of Defense civilian and USAF vet, took her first class in throwing pottery at Roadrunner Ceramics in 2019. Though 2020 postponed further training, she was hooked.  It has become her God-given passion. She continued classes and studio time at Roadrunner Ceramics to grow and learn new skills.  She has found pottery is not only very therapeutic, but an outstanding medium for creativity, with endless possibilities and methods to learn and experiment with.

BLW Pottery LLC Products

Every piece hand made and unique

BLW Pottery LLC offers hand-made pottery created by Barbara L Walters. Each piece is unique. She will also customize pieces. One to three months lead time may be required due to the time needed for throwing, trimming, burnishing and or under glazing, bisquing, and raku or glaze firing. She will negotiate the process with you by charging half up front and not charging the rest until you are satisfied.

Hand-made Pottery

If you are looking for unique decorative or utility pottery, you're sure to find something in the store to your liking. Or contact Barbara and ask for something customized.

Raku vs Utility Glazed Products

Barbara especially loves the raku process and it's unique effects. Above is one of her frogs taken out at about 1700°, placed on combustible material and put into reduction to create a sheen and a variety of effects. Raku items are porous due to the lower firing temperatures.  Barbara uses a process that makes these products water tight for plants, but they are not for food or beverage use. Mugs, bowls, plates and other food safe products are glazed with food safe glazes and fired to appropriate temperatures for the type of clay used.
